The spaceThe cottage, one of two in the same lot, it is small (27 sqm / 290 sq ft) but yet convenient and spacious. It is ideal for two people but can host four (two adults and two children - we do not recommend the cottage for four adults). Featuring a luxury queen size bed with top of the line bedding and a sleeping sofa you are sure to have a great night’s sleep.
You are sure to love the countryside surrounding the cottage and the horses in the field across from the house will provide you with those perfect social media photos to make your friends back home jealous.
The cottage has a full-size kitchen with a two-plate stove top, microwave and a Nespresso coffee maker. We’re sure that you’ll welcome the break from doing the dishes, and for that we have installed a quiet dish washing machine. There is a half size fridge and tableware for up to six people.
The bathroom has all the necessary features including a full-size shower and a radiator to dry your towels. Outside you will have full access to the shared decking surrounding the cabin that will give an added feeling of oneness with nature and a chance to experience the 24-hour daylight during summer and the amazing Northern Lights in winter.

Neighborhood overviewThe nearby town of Flúðir has a mini market, liquor store and a farmer’s market. There are also great restaurants, including an Ethiopian restaurant, The Farmer’s Bistro (great food at very reasonable prices), and you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Icelandair Hotel. You can also explore the nearby tomato farm Friðheimar, home to Iceland’s best tomato soup. There is nothing quite like eating tomato soup in the greenhouse where the tomatoes were grown. Remember to reserve a table in advance!
The famous Secret Lagoon is at Flúðir and is an essential experience; it’s less expensive and less touristy than the Blue Lagoon, but with charisma and uniqueness in spades. Down the road from the cottage you’ll find Hrunalaug (Hruni hot spring), a natural pool you can bathe in (it’s free!! - remember to bring a towel), and at Laugarvatn you will find Fontana Spa.
Gullfoss and Geysir, the stars of the Golden Circle, are just 20 km away. Take the stress out of the tour by organizing it on your own terms, or don’t hesitate to contact us, we have some great insider tips for you.
There are numerous activities to explore close to the cottages: you can go river rafting, horseback riding and you’ll have endless options of hikes in the beautiful Icelandic nature.
